Humanoid robot Sophia to auction its own NFT artwork in a world first

More history is to be made in Non-Fungible Tokens or NFTs, which have become the latest investment craze: an art work by a humanoid robot.
The robot named Sophia will put her digital artwork up for auction in the form of an NFT on Wednesday.
This is the first sale of such a piece to be made jointly using artificial intelligence.
Collaborating with Italian digital artist Andrea Bonaceto, the robot artist says she gets her inspiration from people and is open to future creative partnerships with humans.

“I am excited and hoping the world likes my artwork. I hope the people like my work and the humans and I can collaborate in new and exciting ways going forward. ”

NFTs are a digital signature saved on blockchain ledgers that allows anyone to verify the ownership and authenticity of items.
NFT art collectors say Sophia’s art could be very important and could pave the way for more innovation in the AI art space.
